Selva was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor in 1987 and practised for 11 years at Palakrishnan and Partners, a leading criminal law practice, before continuing in his own partnership. He has appeared as leading counsel in criminal cases at every level of the Singapore courts, from the Court of Appeal and High Court to the Juvenile Court and Court Martial. His cases have covered murder, drug trafficking, sexual assault, corruption, computer crime and many other offences. His practice today is a specialist criminal practice, and he also handles some civil litigation.

Christine was called to the Bar in April 1994 after graduating from the National University of Singapore, and has practised as a litigator at Palakrishnan and Partners, Peter Low Tang & Belinda Ang and Sant Singh Partnership. She practises general litigation, with an emphasis on criminal and family law. She has also served on the Law Society's Criminal Practice Committee and Law Awareness Committee. She was a founder member of the Down Syndrome Association (Singapore), drafted its constitution and has served as its Legal Advisor.
